WINTLE (ウィントル) 2010 S/S SEASON THEME
『 We are drawn by desire 』
For his Summer 2010 collection, Wintle draws inspiration from the photographic works of Edward Burtynsky and his recurring themes of nature transformed through industry. Wintle has subtly translated these references into engineered digital prints of the run-offs of nickel mines and muddy degradé digital prints from the dust filled scapes of the Three Gorges Dam. The architecture and symmetry of the Carrara marble
mines translates into tailoring details in unstructured jacket and coats.
Wintle says, "The stark beauty of the colour palate and the architecture created in these manufactured landscapes were a great inspiration. The softness of nature transformed by industry".
The collection also takes a lighter feel and tone. Wanting to show a softer hand to his tailoring this season, Wintle created a look that feels lighter, largely collapsible, easy yet substantial. More day to night. Less precious but still super luxurious.
Largely unstructured, the collection still highlights Wintle's sharp tailoring with his precise slim cuts coupled with immaculate, yet subtle detailing. Extensive handwork features on the interior of the unlined jackets and includes seams bound in matt grosgrain, French seamed jersey, handpleated shirts and leatherwear featuring extensive hand construction.
