Daniele Alessandrini's 2010/11 Fall / Winter collection looks up at the talent of August Sander, photographer who recounted his days' peasant upper middle
class who was born from the ruins of the first World War through a series of portraits and often severe images full of expressive force. Stories of different
lives, expressed in gestures, looks, where clothing tells about the people who wear them as a daily uniform.
These are the inspirations and the stage over which Daniele Alessandrini's 2010/11 Autumn - Winter collection takes life.
Precise lines, almost strict in the garments' structure, regulate style amid shapes and juxtapositions. Volumes are often complementary, loose on coats with
A-style constructions and trousers which leave space to the fabrics' natural movements framing the legs' line with sharp edge pockets, and tight-fitting on
tops which follow the body's lines.
Outerwear is featured in wool mixed to steel and cotton or paper wool, with a worn-out finishing conveying the idea an experienced and used garment with a
story to tell. Inside and outside, tailoring and designs interchange allowing the lining to enrich jackets with shadings and graphics.
Season's highlights are capes, in wool/steel or in wool embellished by astrakhan necks and a coat that plays with the classic proportions of the tailcoat
presenting a double breasted waistcoat in wool.
Stylish details are set-in pockets outlined by flaps or trimmed, double layered lapels highlighted by steel zippers or not trimmed like cuffs. Shirts feature
French-style collars, narrow and spotless or mutable, halfway between tuxedo sashes or double layered mandarin collars. Must-have accessories are black,
nappa pleated ankle boots.
Knitwear juxtaposes extra-light yarns to oversize tricots and padded knittings outlining the body with different dimensions. Cardigans and V-necks coupled to
double layered long-sleeved t-shirts create different nuances and depths under formal jackets.
Colours of the forthcoming winter season range from black to dusty-grey hues and the shades of brown, up to the play-on with light between ice and chalk used
for knitwear.
The 2010/11 Fall - Winter collection also sees the runway debut of the "Daniele Alessandrini Italia" label which will presents the brand's most fashion-
oriented garments of the forthcoming season.
